Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri will sport Acura branding on their Formula 1 cars at this weekend’s United States Grand Prix.
Acura is the luxury division of Honda, which powers Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri in Formula 1, that is most prominent in North America.
Acura branding will feature on the rear wings of Red Bull’s RB16B and AlphaTauri’s AT02 at the Circuit of the Americas.
“We are happy to promote Honda’s Acura division at the United States Grand Prix and for them to support us in this our final season in Formula 1,” said Honda’s Masashi Yamamoto.
“Acura is an important brand in the USA, Canada and China amongst other countries and has a long and successful history of motor sport involvement also linked to Honda Performance Development, Honda’s racing division in the States.
“This special livery is a one-off, just for this event, but we hope it will be remembered as part of another successful weekend for our Formula 1 team in what has been an exciting and excellent season so far.”
Honda has won more grands prix than any other power unit manufacturers so far in 2021, taking eight victories, all with Red Bull Racing.
It will leave Formula 1 at the end of the season but will retain involvement through 2022 in a transitional year with Red Bull Powertrains.
