Ben Beshore, crew chief for Kyle Busch on the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing team in the NASCAR Cup Series, will be serving a one-race suspension during Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway, the first race of the 2021 Cup Series playoffs round of eight. Beshore was suspended and fined $20,000 because of two improperly secured lug nuts on the #18 car at the end of the race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval on Oct. 10.
Joe Gibbs Tacing race engineer Seth Chavka will be Busch’s crew chief in place of Beshore for the Texas race. Chavka has one race of experience as a Cup Series crew chief. He led then-JGR driver Erik Jones to a fifth-place finish at Darlington Raceway last year.
Chris Gabehart, crew chief on the #11 Joe Gibbs Racing team of Denny Hamlin, and Scott Graves, crew chief on the #17 Roush Fenway Racing team of Chris Buescher, each were fined $10,000 for a single improperly secured lug nut at the end of the Roval race.
