2021 European Le Mans Series champion Robert Kubica will fill in for Jan Magnussen for the final two rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain.
Kubica will partner Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen aboard the team’s #20 ORECA 07-Gibson for both the Six Hours and Eight Hours of Bahrain.
The Polish driver has previously raced alongside Fjordbach and Andersen when he joined the Danish outfit for its unsuccessful attempt at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
“After the ELMS Championship and of course participation at Le Mans, I’m happy to join High Class Racing for the last two rounds of the WEC in Bahrain,” said Kubica. “
Of course I know the team and my teammates Anders and Dennis… We’ll try to enjoy and achieve as strong a result as possible in those two rounds.”
“I’m looking forward to rejoining the team again for the second time this year and let’s hope to achieve some good racing in the ProAm class.”
Kubica recently participated in two Grands Prix with Alfa Romeo as a stand-in for Kimi Raikkonen, who had tested positive for COVID-19.
He spent the majority of the 2021 campaign racing with Team WRT, where he won the ELMS LMP2 title but also narrowly missed out on a class win at Le Mans when his car broke down on the final lap of the race.
