Felipe Nasr has continued his excellent run of form in Long Beach by taking pole position for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The Brazilian posted a 01:11:620 in the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR, handing him pole position in a session where Cadillac teams locked out the top three spots.
Kevin magnussen was 0.104s behind in the #01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac, with Loic Duval third for Mustang Sampling Racing.
Dane Cameron was fourth in the #60 Meyer Shank Racing Cadillac, with Filipe Albuquerque fifth for Wayne Taylor Racing.
Oliver Jarvis was sixth for Mazda and brought the session to an early halt by planting the #55 Mazda RT24-P in the tyre barrier at turn nine, causing a red flag with minutes left on the clock. The session was not restarted.
Corvette leads GTLM in shortened session
Jordan Taylor has taken a dominant pole position in GTD, leading a Corvette one-two.
The reigning GTLM champion was in fine form in the #3 Corvette C8.R, setting a series of fast laps before ultimately settling for a 01:16:801.
Tommy Milner was second fastest in the #4 Corvette, 0.297s behind his team-mate. Milner had a close shave towards the end of the session when Alex Riberas spun the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 at turn 8.
Milner narrowly avoided the stationary Riberas on corner exit. The Spaniard then attempted to turn his car around, which resulted in a near miss with the #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche of Patrick Long.
Race control called a red flag for the stranded Riberas, which brought the session to a premature end.
Cooper MacNeil rounded out the top class in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19.
Snow steals GTD pole from Foley
Madison Snow has put Paul Miller Racing on pole position in the GTD category.
Snow posted a 01:19:475 in the #1 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo to go fastest. He stole pole position away from the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Robby Foley, who looked set for pole until Snow took the top spot away.
Richard Heistand took third in the #39 CarBahn with Peregrine Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo, with Zacharie Robichon fourth in the #9 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Daniel Mancinelli rounded out the top five in the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo as the team returned to the championship for the first time since the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Trent Hindman was sixth for Wright Motorsports ahead of Vasser Sullivan’s Aaron Telitz, with the top ten rounded out by Roman de Angelis, Frankie Montecalvo and Till Bechtolsheimer.
Pfaff Motorsports took the top spot in the points session, with Laurens Vanthoor posting a 01:18:957 in the #9 Porsche 911 GT3 R.
