Lewis Hamilton will offer an “exclusive gift” to Formula 1 fans who attended the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend, which ended up being abandoned after just two laps behind the Safety Car.
Hamilton was the most vocal critic of the event and called on F1 to refund spectators or to provide free access to next year’s race as a form of compensation.
As a gesture of goodwill, Hamilton has offered an “exclusive gift” to anyone who was at the race on Sunday, as long as they have proof of a valid ticket for the event.
The Mercedes driver shared a post from fan account ‘lhamiltoncrew‘ with a link to a form to complete to access the gift.
Meanwhile F1 confirmed it is “working through various options for ticket holders” with regards to potential compensation, though it is unlikely they will offer full refunds, as that could set a precedent for future events.
