35 cars entered for Road America, new LMP3 teams join

35 cars have been entered into next weekend’s IMSA Road Race Showcase at Road America, including two debuting teams in the LMP3 category.

The class has been boosted by the arrival of new outfits Jr III Racing and Wulver Racing, both coming from the Prototype Challenge Series and both entering a Ligier JS P320 for their IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship debuts.

Jr III Racing has entered the #30 Ligier for Mike Skeen and Terry Olsen, while Wulver Racing’s #61 Ligier will be driven by Augie Pabst and Tonis Kasemets.

Dawson Racing, meanwhile, is absent from the grid after having contested the previous two races at Watkins Glen.

Elsewhere on the grid, Era Motorsport returns for a one-off entry in LMP2, fielding its #18 ORECA 07-Gibson for Dwight Merriman and Ryan Dalziel, joining entries from WIN Autosport, PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports and Tower Motorsport.

The DPi and GTLM fields remain unchanged, with the same six and three-car line-ups previously seen at the Watkins Glen sprint round.

In GTD, Alegra Motorsports remains absent after missing out on the Lime Rock Park round over reported sponsorship issues.

The 15-car grid is boosted, however, by the return of NTE Sport, which fields its #42 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo for Don Yount and JR Hildebrand.
