Alex Smolyar came out on top in a thrilling battle for the lead in the first FIA Formula 3 race of the French Grand Prix weekend.
The Russian tussled it out with Alpine Academy driver Victor Martins before overtaking him on the last lap to claim his second victory of the season.
Martins was second ahead of Calan Williams, who picked up his first podium in the series.
Logan Sargeant was fourth ahead of Clement Novalak and Juan Manuel Correa.
Jack Doohan crossed the line seventh and earning the points for the fastest lap, with Ayumu Iwasa demoted to eighth after a five-second time penalty was awarded to the Japanese pilot for passing Sargeant for the lead by going off the race track.
Olli Caldwell and Jak Crawford rounded off the points scorers in ninth and tenth.
Arthur Leclerc who started at the back of the grid due to damage in qualifying, came through to 12th and will start on reverse-grid pole for Race 2.
The second race for F3 this weekend will be later this afternoon following Formula 1 qualifying at 16:40 track time.
