Red Bull junior driver Liam Lawson triumphed in FIA Formula 2 again this year, winning the second Sprint Race of the weekend on a wet Monaco track.
Lawson effectively inherited reverse-grid pole after Marcus Armstrong could not take to the grid due to mechanical problems.
Lawson had to pass Oscar Piastri on track to retake the lead he lost at the start. He was followed home by Dan Ticktum in second and Piastri in third.
Juri Vips was fourth ahead of Theo Pourchaire, Ralph Boschung, Richard Verschoor and Lirim Zendeli rounding out the points-scorers.
Championship-leader Guanyu Zhou was a poor sixteenth after a gamble to go onto slicks did not pay off for the Alpine Academy driver.
The Chinese pilot still leads the series by 11 points over Lawson before the field do battle once more in the Feature Race later this afternoon at 17:15 track time, which follows Formula 1 qualifying.
