Multiple published reports have Brad Keselowski moving from Team Penske to Roush Fenway Racing in 2022 as part owner of the team and new driver of the #6 Ford. According to said reports, if Keselowski takes the deal, RFR will be renamed Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing.
Keselowski is a former NSSCAR team owner. His Brad Keselowski Racing team contested races in the NASCAR Truck Series between 2008 and 2017. The team parlayed 305 starts into 11 wins from drivers including Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Tyler Reddick, Autsin Cindric and Chase Briscoe.
Keselowski, meanwhile, has been a driver at the Cup level for Team Penske since 2010, his first full-time season in NASCAR’S top series. He gave Penske its first NASCAR national-series championship that season in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and its first Cup Series title in 2012. Keselowski has 35 wins in 426 races as a Cup Series driver.
Keselowski is in his final year of his current contract with Team Penske. Ryan Newman also is in his final year of his contract that puts him behind the wheel with the #6 at Roush Fenway. Newman has driven the #6 Ford since 2019. His future with RFR beyond the 2021 season is unknown.
Neither Keselowski, Roush Fenway Racing, nor Team Penske is commenting on the reported offer from Roush to Keselowski.
This is apparently a done deal. Personally, I think it will be awesome. I would love to see Roush back at the top.
