Sebastien Ogier was involved in a collision on his way to SS17 of the Croatia Rally on Sunday morning.
The French Toyota driver collided with a car on public roads as he changed lanes, causing damage to both vehicles, although nobody was injured.
The police then attended the scene, but keen to make it to the start of the next stage, Ogier drove away despite attempts by the police to stand in his way. A Toyota representative remained at the scene.
Ogier was able to complete the stage and sits just three seconds adrift from rally leader Elfyn Evans.
The Yaris was checked over by the FIA’s technical department after SS18 and given the all-clear to continue, with damage confined to the passenger side of the vehicle.
