Felipe Nasr has once again put Whelen Engineering up top in practice for the Twelve Hours of Sebring, going quickest for the second session in a row.
The Brazilian, who also led the way in the opening free practice session, posted a 01:47:323 in the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR. This was 0.181s faster than the time posted by Loic Duval, driving the #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac.
Oliver Jarvis was third and the quickest non-Cadillac driver in the session, setting a time of 01:47:579 in the #55 Mazda RT24-P, ahead of Chip Ganassi’s Kevin Magnussen and Wayne Taylor Racing’s Filipe Albuquerque.
Mikkel Jensen also remained out in front in LMP2, as the Peugeot Hypercar signing set a 01:50:224 in the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA 07-Gibson, just under half a second clear of WIN Autosport’s Tristan Nunez, with Guy Smith third for United Autosports.
Riley Motorsports led LMP3 with a one-two, as Dylan Murry posted a 01:57:371 in the #91 Ligier JS P230-Gibson, which was 0.401s faster than team-mate Spencer Pigot in the sister car, while Joao Barbosa was third for Sean Creech Motorsport.
WeatherTech Racing proved quickest in GTLM as Matt Campbell lapped Sebring International Raceway in 01:56:891 in the #79 Porsche 911 RSR-19, over half a second ahead of the #25 BMW M8 GTE in the hands of Connor de Phillippi.
Nick Tandy made it three different manufacturers in the top three as the Briton posted the third fastest time in the #4 Corvette C8.R, ahead of the second BMW in the hands of Jesse Krohn and Nicky Catsburg in the #3 Corvette.
SunEnergy1 Racing’s Mikael Grenier led the way in GTD in the #75 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, ahead of Turner Motorsports’ Robby Foley and Tim Zimmermann for GRT Grasser Racing Team.
