Ferrari-backed Marcus Armstrong ended the final day of Formula 2 pre-season testing in Bahrain on top of the timesheets for DAMS.
All 22 drivers set their fastest times in morning, with the afternoon session reserved for longer runs to round out the three-day test.
Armstrong’s fastest lap was a 1:42.173s, narrowly edging out the Hitech Grand Prix duo of Liam Lawson and Juri Vips in second and third respectively.
Alpine F1 junior Guanyu Zhou was fourth, ahead of F3 graduate Lirim Zendeli, driving for MP Motorsport.
Prema, who won the Drivers’ and Teams’ Championships in 2020, were sixth on the timesheets with Robert Shwartzman.
Ralph Boschung, who returns to F2 this year with Campos, was seventh heading Richard Verschoor for MP Motorsport and the second Prema driven by reigning F3 Champion Oscar Piastri.
Felipe Drugovich, who has made the switch from MP Motorsport to UNI-Virtuosi for the upcoming campaign, rounded out the top 10.
The 2021 F2 season is set to get underway later this month at the Bahrain International Circuit, supporting the opening F1 grand prix weekend of the year.
Following the start of the F2 campaign, a second test will be held in April at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
