Williams began its on-track preparations for the 2021 Formula 1 season on Wednesday, conducting a filming day at the Silverstone Circuit.
F1 regulations allow teams to nominate two filming days a year using a current-spec car, with running limited to just 100km.
Williams’ first filming day of 2021 came just one day after McLaren hosted its maiden outing with the MCL35M, also at Silverstone.
For the upcoming campaign, Williams has retained George Russell and Nicholas Latifi in its line-up for a second consecutive year – both drivers were present at the shakedown.
The Grove-based squad is set to publicly unveil its car for 2021, named the FW43B, on March 5, one week before pre-season testing in Bahrain gets underway.
It enters the year on the back of a difficult spell of Championships, scoring just a single point in the last two seasons.
2020 was the first year in its long history that saw it score zero points, as it finished at the bottom of the Constructors’ standings for a third consecutive year.
It also saw the departure of the Williams family from team management midway through the season, with the US investment company Dorilton Capitol taking over at the helm.
During the winter break, a further senior management change was made as Williams signed Jost Capito to the position of CEO.
