Daniel Ricciardo has revealed his new helmet design for the 2021 Formula 1 season, taking on a new livery scheme for a third consecutive year.
Since his departure from Red Bull in 2018, where his designs were restricted to fall in line with the team’s branding, the Australian has used stand out helmet liveries, carrying exotic colours and figures.
For the 2021 season, which will be his first with McLaren, the 31-year-old has taken on a number of different blue shades that are scattered around the helmet, with his number and initials surrounded by McLaren’s papaya colour.
At the top of the helmet, he runs the slogan ‘All Good All Ways’. The back sees his famous nickname of the ‘Honey Badger’ penned.
“2021 helmet – this is it,” Ricciardo said. “It’s another Ornamental Conifer design. I’m stoked with it. The theme of it this year was ‘All Good, All Ways.
“Two-fold really: it’s always going to be alright, the sun will always shine, you may have your ups and downs but it’s just trying to be positive with anything you do.
“The second part is no matter where you come from, what walk of life, race, religion, whichever… All Good, All Ways, everyone is cool.
“We’re accepting. Everybody loves everybody. I’m stoked with it, this is what I’m running with this year, hope you like it.”
McLaren will be the first Formula team to launch its 2021 car this year, doing so on February 15 from its Technology Centre in Woking.
