Mick Schumacher was crowned 2020 FIA Formula 2 Champion following an intense Sprint Race in Sakhir.
The German locked up in the opening stages, which contributed to him pitting for soft tyres after half-distance but was not able to recover into the points and would ultimately cross the line in 18th.
Sole title rival Callum Ilott needed to finish in the top two to stand any chance of snatching the title from Schumacher’s nose but fell back to 11th with his hard tyres falling off the cliff.
The event was won by Carlin’s Jehan Daruvala, who picked up his maiden win in the series.
Team-mate Yuki Tsunoda was second, which sees him finish the championship as the highest rookie in the top three.
Dan Ticktum completed the podium for DAMS, with Guanyu Zhou fourth ahead of Robert Shwartzman, Giuliano Alesi, Luca Ghiotto and Felipe Drugovich.
The final standings see Schumacher champion with two wins and ten podiums this season, as he will make his Formula 1 debut in 2021 with Haas.
