Filipe Albuquerque has set the pace in second practice ahead of this weekend’s Motul Petit Le Mans.
The Portuguese driver set a best time of 01:09:230 in the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR, half a second up on the #77 Mazda RT24-P of Tristan Nunez.
Nunez outpaced the #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac in the hands of Ryan Briscoe to take second in the closing stages of the session to take second. Briscoe took third ahead of Dane Cameron’s #6 Acura ARX-05 in fourth, with Cameron’s team-mate Helio Castroneves completed the top five in the sister Acura.
LMP2 pace was set by Simon Trummer in the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA 07-Gibson.
BMW looked set for a one-two in GTLM until their efforts were thwarted by a late flyer from Antonio Garcia’s #3 Corvette C8.R.
The Spaniard’s 01:17:167 leapfrogged both Connor de Phillippi and John Edwards, who ended the session second and third respectively, with Mathieu Jaminet fourth in the #912 Porsche 911 RSR-19.
GTD was led by all-time win record holder Bill Auberlen, who posted a 01:20:057 in the #96 Turner Motorsports BMW M8 GTE to top the timesheets.
Madison Snow put the #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo second after leading opening practice, with Shinya Michimi third in the #86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo.
