In the heights of the Eifel mountains, the legendary Nurburgring played host to Round 11 of the 2020 Formula 1 World Championship which saw a chaotic weekend of truncated action for everyone involved.
Due to the medical helicopter being unable to fly thanks to foggy conditions holding the circuit hostage, Friday practice was abandoned, this meant no one was able to adequately prepare themselves for the remainder of the weekend.
It was even more difficult for Racing Point after Lance Stroll became unwell and hastily called in Nico Hulkenberg from a coffee date with a friend in nearby Cologne just hours before qualifying.
With the race held in chilly conditions rarely found during a season, drivers set off into the unknown for an unpredictable 60 laps where eventually Lewis Hamilton was victorious to equal Michael Schumacher’s 91 wins and take a giant step towards also level himself with the German on seven World Championships.
Motorsport Week has delved into the photographers’ gallery to bring you some of the best shots of the weekend’s action.
