Mercedes has confirmed that it has recorded another case of Covid-19 among its travelling Formula 1 personnel while five more have been isolated.
Mercedes communicated a positive case on Thursday at the Nurburgring and re-tested its entire travelling team.
One more person returned a positive test while one more was determined to be inconclusive and that person is awaiting a retest.
In line with protocols outlined by Formula 1 and the FIA a further four team members, who all tested negative, will no longer be permitted to take part in the weekend’s action.
Six replacements have travelled from the team’s based in the United Kingdom and will fill the respective roles for the remainder of the weekend.
As per restrictions owing to data protection and medical confidentiality no further information is being provided by Mercedes on the identities of those who have either tested positive or who are isolating.
Formula 1 and the FIA is due to release its weekly figures later on Friday.
