DAMS has confirmed that Sean Gelael will return to the team at the next Formula 2 round in Bahrain after recovering from his injuries.
Gelael suffered a broken vertebrae during the Feature Race at Barcelona last month and was ruled out of competition for six weeks.
DAMS acquired the services of Red Bull junior Juri Vips as his replacement, with the Estonian standing in at the last four F2 rounds.
He recorded two finishes inside the points, including a podium at Mugello.
“I’d like to thank DAMS for the opportunity to race in F2 these last four rounds,” Vips said after last weekend’s event in Sochi.
“I really enjoyed it and hope I can join the team again in the future.”
Just two rounds remain in the 2020 Championship, with both taking place in Bahrain on the Formula 1 weekend roster.
The first event will take place at the end of November on the grand prix layout, while the second weekend will run one week later around the ‘outer’ layout.
DAMS’ Managing Director Francois Sicard thanked Vips for “all his hard work since filling in for Sean”, adding the team “wish him the best of luck” going forward.
Gelael’s best result this season came at the second round in Austria, where he took a seventh place finish in the Sprint Race.
DAMS currently sits eighth in the Teams’ Championship, 21.5 points behind MP Motorsport, who lie one position in front.
