Dan Ticktum won the FIA Formula 2 Sprint Race at Monza, making it the second time he has stood on the top step this season.

The Brit jumped into the lead in front of reverse-grid pole sitter Louis Deletraz at the start and led every single lap to take 15 points from today’s event.

Callum Ilott came home second, which is enough to move him into the lead in the Drivers’ Standings.

Christian Lundgaard made it two podiums for him this weekend in third ahead of Mick Schumacher in fourth, who also got the points for the fastest lap.

Deletraz was fifth with Robert Shwartzman, Jehan Daruval and Jack Aitken picking up the last points of the F2 weekend.

Red Bull junior driver Yuki Tsunoda retired mechanical trouble on Lap 2 and falls further behind in the title race.

Callum Ilott’s lead in the championship is five points over Mick Schumacher, who moves up to second in front of Robert Shwartzman a further three points behind in third.

FIA Formula 2 will begin the ninth round of its 2020 campaign in Mugello, part of the Tuscan Grand Prix support bill next weekend.
