Lando Norris has unveiled another unique helmet design for this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix, with the base design inspired by pizza.
Norris has used multiple helmet designs during the 2020 campaign following a relaxation in the rules regarding the number of helmet liveries permitted during a season.
At the British Grand Prix, the McLaren driver unveiled a helmet that was designed by a six-year-old fan.
For the latest round at Monza, Norris has gone for an Italian-inspired design by incorporating pizza imagery into it, as well as an Italian flag running vertically down the front.
Norris stated earlier this year that he is a fan of changing helmet designs from race-to-race and is hoping to run an entire season using different fan helmets in the future.
Heading into the Italian GP weekend, Norris sits sixth in the Drivers’ Championship, but admits that the circuit may not be suited to the MCL35 package compared to other venues.
“I want to come in here with a bit more confidence that we have the last few years,” Norris said. “I think we have an understanding of the car, myself, what I did last year.
“But Carlos was in a better position here at Monza so he was on for more points.
“I don’t think it’s a terrible track for us, maybe not our strongest, I don’t think races have gone very well for us the last years.
“I took my power unit penalty here so I don’t think it’s maybe been the best but I don’t think it’s been the worst either.
“I think we need to come here with an open mindset and still try and continue the run of results and points we’ve had over the last races.”
How can you not like this kid! He’s an excellent driver, has a great screen personality, seeks to have fun in his chosen profession.
I am an unabashed Lewis fan, but Lando is definitely a fav as well 🙂
