Trident driver Lirim Zendeli will start from pole position for the opening FIA Formula 3 race at Spa-Francorchamps, following a disrupted qualifying session on Friday afternoon.
Debutant Michael Belov crashed heavily through Pouhon, which brough the session to a temporary halt, with Zendeli provisionally fastest at that stage of the session.
But further improvements proved impossible as rain fell during the red-flag period and lingered for the remainder of the session.
Joining Zendeli on the front row will be rookie Theo Pourchaire, with his ART team-mate Alex Smolyar third.
Championship leader Logan Sargeant will start from fourth, ahead of David Beckmann, Richard Verschoor and Liam Lawson.
Sargeant’s close title rival Oscar Piastri will start eighth, while completing the top 10 on the grid will be Frederik Vesti and Alex Peroni.
Formula 3’s Feature Race is scheduled to start at 10:25 local time on Saturday
