Red Bull/Honda protege Yuki Tsunoda claimed his second pole position of the 2020 season as he topped qualifying for Formula 2’s Feature Race in Belgium.
In a session interrupted by a handful of incidents Tsunoda clocked a time of 1:57.593 to finish 0.128s clear of Hitech’s Nikita Mazepin.
Nobuharu Matsushita, winner of the Spanish Featura Race, qualified third on the grid for MP Motorsport.
Championship leader Callum Ilott endured a torrid session as he finished down in 12th position, the first time the Briton has classified outside of the top three spots in qualifying all seasion.
His nearest title rival, Prema’s Robert Shwartzman, will start from fourth position, ahead of Felipe Drugovich and Guanyu Zhou.
Mick Schumacher qualified seventh, as Louis Deletraz, Jehan Daruvala and Luca Ghiotto completed the top 10.
