Campos Racing has confirmed Andreas Estner will stand in for Sophia Floersch for the FIA Formula 3 round at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend.
Floersch is absent from the grid as she is making her LMP2 debut at Paul Ricard in the European Le Mans Series on Saturday.
Estner has previous experience in F3, having spent the entire 2019 season racing with Jenzer Motorsport, recording a best finish of 11th place.
This year, he is racing in the Euroformula Open Championship and currently sits second in the drivers’ standings with three podium finishes in four races.
“I’m very happy to make my comeback in the FIA Formula 3 Championship,” Estner said.
“This is an excellent opportunity for me but at the same time I realize it is going to be a challenging weekend because I haven’t driven the Dallara F3 2019 car for quite a long time and Spa-Francorchamps isn’t the easiest track in the world!
“It is a quite technically-demanding circuit. But I’m looking forward to working with Campos Racing and feel ready for the challenge.”
Floersch skipped the opening two rounds of the European Le Mans Series due to her F3 commitments.
The German, who is yet to score her first points in F3 this year, is expected to be back racing with Campos for the final two rounds at Monza and Mugello.
