Charles Leclerc faces two investigations after qualifying for Formula 1’s Styrian Grand Prix, with Sergio Perez and Kimi Raikkonen also summoned.
Leclerc and Ferrari endured another miserable day as he was knocked out in Q2, running wide through the Turn 4 gravel early in the session, while Sebastian Vettel managed only 10th.
Post-session stewards revealed that he is under investigation for allegedly impeding AlphaTauri’s Daniil Kvyat and for crossing the control line after a red flag was shown in Q1.
Alfa Romeo’s Raikkonen is also under investigation for the red flag transgression.
The session was stopped prematurely when Raikkonen’s Alfa Romeo team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi came to a halt at Turn 4, having damaged his C39 when he hit the barriers exiting Turn 9.
Racing Point’s Perez is under investigation for allegedly not respecting yellow flags during Q1.
Both Raikkonen and Perez failed to make it out of the first knockout session.
