The streets of Maranello were closed off early on Thursday morning as Charles Leclerc drove Ferrari’s 2020 Formula 1 car on public highway.
At around 06:30 Leclerc drove from the Officina Classiche – where the racing department used to be based – before crossing the Via Abetone Inferiore, which is one of the main routes through Maranello.
Leclerc drove the SF1000 past the current Formula 1 factory, which opened in 2015, and then around the corner to pass the organisation’s official museum.
Leclerc ended his slow-speed run by taking the Via Gilles Villeneuve to the Fiorano Circuit, with Ferrari expected to carry out a filming day at its test track.
It is the first time that the SF1000 has run since the end of February.
