Brabham Automotive has completed production and delivery of the first BT62 Competition car as it works towards a prospective FIA WEC program.

The British manufacturer confirmed a planned GTE Pro entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship for what was originally intended to be the 2021/22 season in early 2019 and has since worked on the development of their BT62.

The car has already seen its racing debut on the national scene, competing and winning in rounds of the Britcar Endurance Championship. The car took victory upon its debut the series at Brands Hatch late last year.

The first car, delivered to UK-based outfit Horsepower Racing, will also see action in that championship at the hands of Paul Bailey and Ross Wylie.

Brabham says it will continue to produce both track and road variants in the coming months, delivering them across Europe, Australia and New Zealand as logistic and operational restrictions are lifted.

“The growth of Brabham Automotive over the last couple of years is a testament to the up-front planning that we put in place operationally and the depth of infrastructure that we can call upon from the broader Fusion Capital group,” said Dan Marks, Brabham Automotive CEO. “This ensures that we can scale Brabham to meet demand and as future vehicle variants come on line.

The Brabham Automotive team is highly skilled and has shown great resilience in what has been a trying time for everybody around the world. We are extremely proud of what has been achieved.”
