McLaren driver Lando Norris will be joined by a Hamilton during this weekend’s Virtual Spanish Grand Prix.
You won’t be surprised to hear that six-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton isn’t joining the virtual world or returning to his former team, no, instead his brother Nicolas Hamilton will race alongside Norris at the virtual Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
This is the fifth virtual round as F1 looks to provide some entertainment during the lockdown, having previously raced at Albert Park in place of Vietnam, Bahrain, China and Interlagos in place of the Dutch GP.
Hamilton previously partnered Norris at McLaren for the Bahrain round where he finished in P14, with Norris P5 – though Norris only competed in the second half of the race due to connection issues, with an AI car filling his spot until he was able to take over control.
Guan Yu Zhou, Charles Leclerc and Alexander Albon have so far shared the victories between them.
Also confirmed to participate are ex-F1 racer Tonio Liuzzi, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero for Red Bull, Haas tester Pietro Fittipaldi, while golfer Ian Poulter returns for Renault, alongside academy driver and Formula 3 racer Max Fewtrell.
