VistaJet, the company founded by WEC competitor Thomas Flohr, has offered its assistance in combating the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic by working with governments to repatriate citizens and transport medical supplies.
Flohr competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with the #54 Ferrari 488 GTE alongside Francesco Castellacci and ex-F1 star Giancarlo Fisichella. The Swiss driver debuted in the championship in 2017, driving for what was then known as the Spirit of Race team. He has since taken six podiums in GTE Am and a class win at the 2017 6 Hours of Fuji.
In the wake of the pandemic, the private jet charter firm is working with governments and consulates to aid in the repatriation of citizens by offering empty leg flights and assisting with permits and paperwork.
In addition, the company is in talks with medical organizations, health experts and regulators to identify other areas of assistance like transporting medical supplies and transporting medical experts to locations to fight the pandemic.
“Everyone at VistaJet continues to assess how we can better serve our customers and the greater global community during these difficult times,” said Flohr, VistaJet chairman and founder. Listening to expert advice, whether that be security, safety or medical, we are here to ensure that they are fully supported with their flying needs.
This is an unusual time and one that we must all work together where possible to do whatever we can to help. We know we don’t normally offer repatriation flights or the transportation of medical equipment, but ultimately, we are a logistics company and we are here to help the global community as much as we can. We are in this fight together.”
