Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has confirmed that the softest tyre compounds will be used in Monaco, should the 2020 event take place.
The sporting landscape has been heavily disrupted by the outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, with Formula 1’s opening quartet of events cancelled or postponed.
Organisers in Monaco remain optimistic that its grand prix – scheduled for May 24 – can still go ahead as planned.
It is thought improbable that this is a realistic objective though track build is continuing in spite of restrictions brought in by officials in Principality.
Pirelli will once more bring the C3, C4 and C5 tyres to the event, the softest three compounds from its usual range of five.
Each driver will have 13 sets of tyres available for the duration of the weekend and they are permitted free choice from the three nominated compounds for 10 of the sets.
