Daniel Ricciardo has unveiled his 2020 Formula 1 helmet ahead of the first race of the season – the Australian Grand Prix.
The Renault driver has taken a different approach to helmet designs since he joined Renault. Last year he worked with designer Nicolai Sclater and unveiled a striking helmet like nothing else on the grid.
This year Ricciardo has worked with Ornamental Conifer and JMD Jens Munser Designs to create another unique design.
His 2020 helmet features his race number in a 3D effect on a monochrome leopard print background which is covered in abstract marks which appear to either represent the number three or the letter M or W.
The FIA recently confirmed it has scrapped a rule on drivers retaining the same helmet design for an entire season bar one change for a “significant” race, such as a home event, therefore unlimited changes are now allowed.
