Pedro Piquet was quickest overall on the first day of 2020 F2 Pre-Season testing at the Sakhir International Circuit in Bahrain.
The Brazilian enjoyed a solid day of running, completing 30 laps in the morning that saw him P4 on a 1:44.147, less than six tenths off the fastest time in the first session, set by his Charouz team-mate Louis Deletraz.
Piquet improved his time in the afternoon to a 1:41.877, nearly two tenths ahead of second place Nobuharu Matsushita in the MP.
Jehan Daruvala made it two rookies in the top three for Carlin ahead of Roy Nissany and Marcus Armstrong.
Sean Gelael was sixth for DAMS, over half a second off the pace. Tom Dillmann stood in for Marino Sato in the afternoon for Trident and was seventh quickest. Deletraz, Artem Markelov and Yuki Tsunoda made up the top ten.
Christian Lundgaard’s replacement at ART, Sergey Sirotkin was 16th and a full second off Piquet’s time.
F2 continue their pre-season testing tomorrow morning.
