Campos Racing have confirmed Alex Peroni and Alessio Deledda as part of their driver line-up for the FIA Formula 3 Championship this season.
Peroni will be competing in his first race in the series since his terrifying accident at Monza last year that saw him having to miss the season finale in Sochi.
The Australian scored all of Campos’ five points, leaving him 20th in the standings in his rookie campaign in F3.
The 20-year-old shared on his return: “I’m really excited to announce I will be joining Campos Racing for the 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship season,” Peroni said.
“I’m really looking forward to starting the new season. It was a very tricky one last year.
“We showed good potential in places but something always happened to prevent us from achieving top results. But we larend a lot and that’s the main thing as that knowledge can be carried over to the new season.
“The FIA Formula 3 Championship is unfinished business. Now we’ll have another shot!”
Team-mate Deledda will be entering only his third season in single-seaters, as the 25-year-old Italian will be wanting to build on what was a difficult campaign in the third-tier with a best result of 16th in Paul Ricard to his credit in 2019.
He aims to “improve” on his F3 results and build on his career after switching from two-wheels in 2018.
“I’m really happy to join Campos Racing one more year,” Deledda added.
“The team always gave their best and I’m so grateful to them for the improvement and the experience I gained. This year I’m ready to improve my results in the races. I’m looking to driving again in the FIA F3.”
Campos have yet to announce their third and final driver in due course. Pre-season testing begins at the Sakhir International Circuit on the 1-3 March.
