Former IndyCar racer Mario Dominguez has been named as the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY VIP driver in time for his home race at Mexico City this weekend.
The 45-year-old racer competed in IndyCar from 2002-2008 and recorded two victories at Surfers Paradise and Miami alongside 10 further podiums.
Leaving the single-seater series at the close of the 2008 campaign, Dominguez joined K plus K Motorsport in the FIA GT Championship.
“I am really looking forward to racing in front of my home crowd in Mexico City, the atmosphere is going to be electrifying,” he said, looking ahead to the third I-PACE eTROPHY race of its second season.
“This will be my first time competing in an electric race car and I cannot wait to get behind the wheel of the I-PACE eTROPHY and push it to its limits.”
Joining the championship, Dominguez becomes the third VIP driver of Season 2, with Abbie Eaton and Reema Juffali previously piloting two guest entries in the Diriyah leg of the Formula E support series.
