James Hinchcliffe has secured a sponsorship deal with Genesys that will allow him to compete in the Indianapolis 500 and the Indianapolis Grand Prix in May.
The IndyCar veteran lost his ride for this season when the newly formed Arrow McLaren SP decided to sign the 2019 Indy Lights champion Oliver Askew in his place. Hinchcliffe was kept under contract with the team but was allowed to search out other opportunities.
The specifics of the deal are not known at this time, including whether the deal has the possibility of being expanded to more races or even which team Hinchcliffe will be driving for in May.
Genesys held an event on Thursday to announce the partnership with CEO Tony Bates citing Hinchcliffe’s “incredible level of skill and charisma.”
“We are thrilled to align ourselves with this talented driver and a sport that gives hundreds of thousands of people a experience like no other each and every May.
“This sponsorship gives Genesys an opportunity to further immerse ourselves in this wonderful community that’s home to our largest employee base in the world.”
Genesys has a large presence in Indianapolis with many of its 5,500 employees based there. The company offers call center and customer experience services to over 11,000 companies worldwide.
Hinchcliffe has been racing full-time in IndyCar since 2011 and secured eight top-ten finishes last season including a third place finish in Iowa.
