Panasonic Jaguar Racing has named Alex Lynn as its test and reserve driver for Season 6, welcoming the Briton back to the team after his 2019 departure.
Lynn made his Formula E debut with Virgin Racing in Season 4 but missed out on a full-time drive for Season 5 before later replacing Nelson Piquet Jr at the British Jaguar squad.
Completing seven races alongside Mitch Evans, Lynn recorded 10 points for Jaguar and came close to recording his maiden Formula E podium in New York before a technical problem halted his progress.
For Season 6, Lynn was replaced by fellow FIA World Endurance Championship competitor James Calado, who made his Formula E debut in Diriyah last November.
“I am excited to be re-joining the Panasonic Jaguar Racing team and returning to Formula E,” said Lynn.
“I am familiar with the Championship, the team, their goals and how they work. I look forward to playing my part in helping the team achieve their objectives.”
Team Director James Barclay added: “Mitch Evans and James Calado are an exciting combination and they will be strongly supported by Alex throughout the season.
“Alex is not only a very talented and accomplished driver, he also has valuable experience in Formula E and a great relationship with our team.
“That experience and relationship will be highly beneficial to our ongoing development.
“Winning races can only be achieved if you have a hard working, talented team around you. Bringing Alex back into the fold helps us achieve that.”
With the 1,000 Miles of Sebring clashing with the Sanya E-Prix, it is currently unknown if Calado will contest the sixth race of Season 6 or who will replace him, with Lynn also set to race in Florida on March 20
