Organisers of the Vietnam Grand Prix have released images showing progress with the Hanoi Circuit, which will host Formula 1 next April.
The inaugural Vietnam Grand Prix will take place at the 23-turn 5.607km circuit from April 3 to 5, with the layout inspired by sections of track from classic venues.
On Friday an update was issued with photos released detailing the construction work ongoing in Hanoi.
Officials expect the 300m-long pit building, the design of which has been inspired by Hanoi’s Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, to be completed by the end of December.
The asphalt-levelling process along the 1.5km back straight is nearing completion and the entire circuit is expected to be finished during early January.
The Vietnam Grand Prix is set to be the first new race agreed, signed and delivered by Liberty Media since it acquired the commercial rights of Formula 1 in early 2017.
It will be part of an expanded 22-round schedule for the 2020 championship, with Vietnam joined by the return of the Netherlands, which will host Formula 1 action for the first time since 1985.
