Fahad Algosaibi and Mashhur Bal Hejaila will drive for Saudi Racing in Season 2 of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY.
Making its debut last season, the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY will head into its second season of competition later this month with a double-header round in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
Sporting a refreshed driver lineup, Algosaibi and Bal Hejaila will take the place of inaugural Pro-Am champion Bandar Alesayi and team-mate Ahmed Bin-Khanen for Season 2.
Contesting six seasons of the Porsche GT3 Challenge Middle East, Algosaibi will front Saudi Racing’s lineup, with the 26-year-old holding extensive experience in motorsport with a number of strong results including a podium finish at the 24H Dubai 997 race in 2015.
"I am extremely excited to be representing Saudi Racing in the upcoming eTROPHY series and we are very excited to have the first races in Saudi," said Algosaibi.
"There is going to be a lot of pressure as some of the drivers have raced in the previous season and we have a lot of catching up to do, but it is going to be fun.
"It has been extremely valuable having time to test the cars in the UK and to get used to them. There are a lot of features we aren’t used to like Attack Mode, so it is great to have the opportunity to do this before our first race in Diriyah."
Finishing third and fourth overall in the 2015 and 2016 Formula Gulf 1000 championship, Bal Hejaila is of the same calibre as Algosaibi as he embarks on his maiden season in the I-PACE eTROPHY:
"The opportunity to race in the eTROPHY series is an honour and I am thrilled to be representing Saudi Racing,” he added.
"Fahad and I have raced a lot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi but never in Saudi so this is great news for us. The car has exceeded my expectations in testing.
"I have raced formula cars before, but this is my first time driving an electric racing car. It feels really good to push myself and the I-PACE to the limit.”
