Inaugural Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY champion Sergio Jimenez will defend his Drivers’ title in the series’ second season.
In the Formula E support series that made its debut last season, Jimenez romped to the Pro Drivers’ Championship, finishing on the podium on nine occasions in the 10-round season to clinch the title.
Remaining with Jaguar Brazil Racing, the 35-year-old will defend his championship and will be partnered by Caca Bueno for a second consecutive season with the pair eager to build upon past successes.
“I am very happy to be back for season two along with Cacá,” said Jimenez. “We worked well together last season and we want to continue that success for the team.
“The changes to the car and of course Attack Mode will mean the races are much more exciting and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
Bueno, who took third in the championship, added: “It feels good to be returning to the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY.
“After a competitive finish to last season, I am looking forward to racing and challenging to become the next champion, I have a tough challenge ahead, but I look forward to a great season with an improved car.
“Attack Mode will make the racing more exhilarating and I’m looking forward to it.”
Season 2 of the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY will once more feature 10 races, while the series will now race in Sanya in place of Hong Kong which has been dropped from Formula E’s Season 6 calendar.
