Valtteri Bottas has been given the all-clear after his crash during qualifying in Mexico, though he could drop down the grid due to extensive car damage.
Bottas, who held a provisional sixth place, slid wide as he exited the final corner and hit the concrete wall, before suffering a secondary impact with the Tec Pro barriers.
The impact was registered as 17G and Bottas visited the medical centre as a precaution, from where he was given the all-clear and quickly released.
Mercedes confirmed that Bottas’ W10 is “extensively damaged” and that the team is “assessing exactly what work needs to be completed for it to be ready to race.”
Should Mercedes have to undertake major component changes then Bottas risks incurring grid penalties, or even a pit lane start.
