Alexander Albon will use a different chassis for the remainder of the Mexican Grand Prix weekend in the wake of his crash during second practice.
Albon lost control of his RB15 through Turn 8 early into the second session and hit the barriers, causing substantial damage to the right-front of the car.
Red Bull elected to undertake a change of chassis overnight and the car has now been scrutineered ahead of Saturday’s third practice session.
Speaking about the accident Albon, who has never before raced in Mexico, said: “It did go really quick, I wasn't expecting it to go like that.
“It was just a bit of a careless mistake, used a bit too much track. These things go quickly. I did snap it, it went really quick.
“We missed a good chunk of long-running data as well, so it won't be easy.
“I think we'll have to change the run plan for FP3, and then try and find a good solution for qualifying.”
