Next year’s 22-round Formula 1 calendar has been officially ratified by the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council on Friday.
The WMSC, which meets four times per year, gathered in Cologne for Friday’s meeting, and rubber-stamped the record-breaking schedule, which was publicly released in August.
The season will begin in Australia in mid-March and conclude in Abu Dhabi at the end of November.
Vietnam joins the calendar as the third round, in early April, with the Netherlands returning at Zandvoort after a 35-year absence.
The Dutch Grand Prix will be the first round of the European season, in May, forming a back-to-back with Spain, which was renewed for a further year, having initially been set to drop from the schedule.
Liberty Media also agreed extensions this year with event organisers in Britain, Italy and Mexico.
The German Grand Prix, which has been held 64 times since 1951, has been discontinued.
It was also confirmed earlier on Friday that the amount of testing has been drastically reduced for 2020.
Pre-season will take place at Barcelona from 19-21 February and 26-28 February, leading to six days of running rather than eight, with the four in-season test days scrapped.
