Charles Leclerc has emphasised that his approach in Formula 1 has not changed, and that is still concentrating on his weak points, in the wake of back-to-back victories.
The Monegasque driver had controlled proceedings in Belgium and doubled up a week later in Italy, a result that moved him ahead of Ferrari team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the championship.
Leclerc has also out-qualified Vettel at the each of the last seven grands prix.
“At the end the approach is the same, I always focus on the negatives even after a win,” said Leclerc.
“After a weekend that maybe looks perfect from the outside there is always something you can improve and especially myself but I am only 21 years old and I’ve got a lot to improve still.
“So I always focus on the negatives and try to understand that and work on that for the race afterwards.”
Leclerc added that he can feel pleased with the trajectory of his campaign, having emerged as Ferrari’s leading contender in recent grands prix.
“I think what I wanted at the beginning of the year was to improve during the year and I see this progression from the first race to now,” he said.
“I have done mistakes and I think this is pretty clear too. Some costly mistakes and some others less but I have learnt from them and I will do other mistakes in the future and I hope will learn from them too.
“That was the target this year and I am satisfied.”
