Renault has confirmed that it will introduce its Spec-C power unit at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, meaning both drivers will receive grid penalties.

The French manufacturer confirmed the upgrade to the internal combustion engine (ICE) was for "minor upgrades to reliability and performance".

As a result, both Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg will take five-place grid penalties for this weekend's event, with the former now on his fifth engine and the latter on his sixth, having previously served penalties for exceeding their component allowance.

The upgrade has also been made available to customer team McLaren, though the British team has yet to confirm its plans.

Both Honda and Mercedes have also brought engine updates this weekend. Red Bull's Alex Albon and Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat will take on the new unit and each serve a penalty.

Meanwhile both Mercedes drivers and Williams drivers are within their allocation and won't serve penalties for taking on the upgrade.
