Alfa Romeo’s appeal against its penalty at last weekend’s German Grand Prix will not be heard until September.
Alfa Romeo finished seventh and eighth at Hockenheim, with Kimi Raikkonen in front of Antonio Giovinazzi, but both drivers were handed a 30-second post-race time penalty.
This was in lieu of a 10-second stop-and-go penalty, which was issued for a clutch torque application transgression on the grid.
It was determined that incorrect settings allowed a more gradual application of the torque, potentially handing Raikkonen and Giovinazzi an advantage off the line.
Alfa Romeo notified its intention to go ahead with an appeal and on Friday team manager Beat Zehnder revealed that a date of September 24 has been allocated.
The penalties for Raikkonen and Giovinazzi relegated them out of the points, in turn promoting Haas pair Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen to seventh and eighth.
Lewis Hamilton picked up ninth and extended his title advantage over Valtteri Bottas to 41 points, while Robert Kubica moved into the top 10 for his and Williams’ first point of 2019.
It means the result of the German Grand Prix remains provisional until the appeal is heard.
