Mercedes has unveiled its one-off retro-themed livery for this weekend’s Formula 1 German Grand Prix.
Mercedes is celebrating 125 years of its involvement in motorsport and is also commemorating its 200th Formula 1 start as a manufacturer team in the championship.
It will also act as title sponsor for this weekend’s event at Hockenheim, where it has a substantial presence, including its own grandstand.
The front of the W10 has been tweaked as a nod to some of its past designs, with a predominantly white approach, red numbers, and old-style sponsor logos.
It then blends with the usual paint scheme of the car, as if to ‘reveal’ the modern livery.
Mercedes’ W10 has been the standout car in Formula 1 this year, with the reigning World Champions having won nine of the 10 grands prix.
Lewis Hamilton leads team-mate Valtteri Bottas by 39 points.
The team has also decorated its garage and motorhome with retro posters and graphics, providing a flashback to its early involvement in motorsports.
