Jean-Eric Vergne has hailed DS Techeetah as the best team in Formula E after soaring to the Season 5 crown, becoming the series' first double champion.
After missing out on the top 10 in the first leg of the season-closing New York City E-Prix following a final lap collision with Felipe Massa, Vergne fought back in Race 2 to end the season with a seventh-place finish.
Securing six points in the 13th race of the year, Vergne secured the Drivers' Championship, aided by fellow title protagonists Lucas di Grassi and Mitch Evans who both crashed out of the season finale on the final lap.
As the sole finishing DS Techeetah driver, with Andre Lotterer retiring early on, Vergne also helped the Chinese squad take its maiden victory in the Teams' Championship, 12 months on from its heartbreak of Season 4 after getting beaten to the title by Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler by only three points.
Reflecting on his season, which saw the Frenchman record three wins on his way to the Season 5 crown, Vergne voiced his pride in his DS Techeetah team, hailing the outfit as the best team in Formula E as the squad secured all three trophies this season, taking the Drivers' and Teams' Championships alongside the Voestalpine European Races title.
"I couldn’t be prouder of my team," said Vergne.
"Last year we did an amazing job being a private team with no test days, with very little resource.
"This year, DS brought in more and of course, it took time to successfully work as a team. But in the end, we did a great job and I’m so proud of them.
"This will boost the confidence of the team for the upcoming season and I strongly believe I’m in the best Formula E team and we’ll keep working hard to make it stay this way."
While Formula E's 2018/19 campaign is over, the series will return on November 22 when Season 6 will begin in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
