Mercedes has added 15-year-old Formula 4 racer Paul Aron to its young driver programme.
European karting champion Aron stepped up to single-seater competition for 2019, running dual programmes in Italian and German Formula 4 with Prema.
Estonian Aron becomes the fifth current member of Mercedes’ junior programme.
Esteban Ocon remains the most senior member of the scheme, having joined in 2015, with the Frenchman occupying the role of Mercedes’ F1 reserve driver.
Ocon raced for Force India across 2017/18 but was unable to secure a seat for 2019 and missed out on a drive at other teams.
Mercedes also has George Russell on its books, with the reigning Formula 2 champion currently undertaking his rookie campaign in Formula 1 with Williams.
The manufacturer also looks after young karters Andrea Antonelli and Alex Powell.
