Haas and Alfa Romeo have fitted Ferrari’s updated power unit for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.
Ferrari accelerated the development of its power unit in the wake of its early season performances and introduced Spec 2 at the last event in Spain.
Customer teams Haas and Alfa Romeo have now fitted new Internal Combustion Engines, Turbocharges and MGU-Hs.
The changes were officially confirmed by the FIA on Thursday morning in Monaco.
“We now get the same spec introduced for Ferrari in Barcelona,” said Haas boss Guenther Steiner.
“I don’t know how much the power difference is and how much the drivability is, it’s not only power, it’s energy management and all that stuff. I don’t know the maps. But for sure, it will not be worse.”
