Formula 1 has finalised plans for the second of its 2019 Fan Festivals, which will take place in the American city of Chicago.
Formula 1 revealed earlier this year that Shanghai, Chicago, Los Angeles and Rio de Janeiro would be the host cities for Fan Festivals.
The initiative was launched by Liberty Media with a live event in London in 2017 that was followed by four events through 2018.
Formula 1’s Chicago festival will take place in the grounds of Soldier Field on Saturday 8 June – qualifying day for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Formula 1 has promised that local celebrities will be making an appearance while Judah & the Lion will be the headline musical act.
An F1 car, sporting a unique Chicago-themed livery, will also make several appearances at city locations as part of the build-up to the event.
“Following the huge success of the Shanghai festival, we are excited to be heading to Chicago – a city known to hold the most enthusiastic of sports fans,” said F1 commercial chief Sean Bratches.
“We are looking forward to taking F1 to the US and immersing fans in the race day atmosphere and showing the Windy City all that F1 has to offer.”
